“Infographic: How Do Top Comments On Youtube Work?” Definitions

Google+

This is probably the most important factor since Google has a penchant for forcing their users to use Google+ one way or another, although there’s a chance that the other factors are more important.

Account

I would label this one as the second most important factor after the Google+ factor. The reason I gave this factor more weight than the others is simply because I’ve noticed that video uploaders will almost always get top comments on their own videos and occasionally on the videos of others. In addition to this, linking a Google+ account to your YouTube account seems to help.

Comment

If you were to disregard the video uploader sub-factor in the “account” factor, then this factor could be considered to be the second most important factor (or the most important if you find yourself spamming old copied comments filled with vulgarities and bit.ly links more than 20 times a day. I can confirm that uniqueness is definitely a factor as Google implemented this factor in during the time that people were spamming the “Bob & Tank” comments to boycott Google+ to prevent their comments from showing up.

Community

While the “community” factor may have been the most important factor in the past, Google seems to have put more weight on Google+ and the user’s account to deter spammers from simply upvoting their own comments in an attempt to seem popular.

What do you think about this infographic? Should something be added to it or omitted from it?
